The Waves SSL G-Master Bus Compressor is a classic plugin, modeled after a classic compressor. This SSL bus compressor clone has been around for a long time but I find it still holds up nicely. There is nothing wrong with it, it can be had for a great price and it works in many situations. The Unmistakeable Sound of SSL's G-Series!The SSL Stereo Bus Compressor Module answers the clamor from customers for the audio legend that is the center section compressor from SSL G-Series Consoles to be made available for the X-Rack system. The module, which is the first double-width module occupying two X-Rack slots, is a simple unit with a simple purpose: it makes complete mixes sound. The G-Series Bus Compressor is a VCA-based stereo unit from the UK’s Oxfordshire-based Solid State Logic, derived from the circuits found in their legendary 4000 G-series console. The SSL excels at one thing only: stylish-as-hell bus compression, either on sub-mixes or the master bus itself. Extra 40% Off Use Code CREATIVE40 Perfect for tightening up final mixes Based on the renowned master buss center compressor of the SSL 4000 G console, the Waves SSL G-Master Buss Compressor captures the unique sound of the original’s IC input and twin VCA gain-reduction amplifier design. Prized by top engineers for its ability to “glue together” tracks, the SL 4000 G master.
The GSSL is a clone of the stereo buss compressor found in SSL4000-series desks. Because of it’s affordability and relatively low difficulty, the GSSL has become a very popular project with many PCBs and mods available.

Uad Ssl G Bus Compressor
Notable Features:
- Designed for DBX202x or THAT2180/2181 VCAs
- Uses all modern easily sourceable components
- Ratio, attack, and release pots
Possible Modifications:
- Turbo Mod
- Changes the sidechain from summed (mono) to stereo. This makes the GSSL behave more like the original SSL.
- CRC Filter Mod
- Fixes power hum problems inherent in the original GSSL design.

- Adds adjustable 60, 90, 130 & 200hz high-pass filters, Tilt-Medium and Tilt-Loud sidechain eq curves, and the option for an external sidechain input.
- Crush’n’Blend
- Adds wet/dry mix control
