I remember when metamorphosis was released and how the whole crossover was built on that sound of bands like Corrosion of conformity, D R I, and others at the time. I wasn't a big fan of it personally, lead guitar solos never really catch my interests; and though I have liked a lot of heavy metal, it was like a death in the family to see how metalmorphosis looked just like an iron maiden album, and nails on a chalkboard to listen to. IF ONLY I HAD NEVER HEARD ' mad punx and english dogs' or the amazing tracks off of ' they only come out at night' compilation (Newsflash, WWII) and become a undying fan of their raw power sound, it may not have made a difference to me. But then they return to that sound with ' the whole worlds filled with fucked up people' and many others proving that they were punk first before all else.

Well tonight in long beach, the lead guitarist made mention of their punk rock sound from the beginning, but only after what seemed like a 45 minute guitar solo beforehand. PLEASE! Make no mistake, as talented as no one can argue he is, it was like 'well, I'm one of the original members, and the band is really me, so you only get to hear the songs that showcase me' and you better like guitar solos, cause I left after realizing ain't no way I'm hearing 'hanging wanker' or really any punk song from them. And yes, its been 2 weeks since I've been able to type this review in order to avoid badmouthing a band that doesn't deserve it. Lesson learned by me after consulting all the member changes over the years for the dogs, whoever contributed to their raw power punk sound of so many timeless anthems, is no longer in the band.
